The Stasmayer Managed IT Department represents the evolution of outsourced IT support. Traditionally, companies that outsource their IT support put a company on a retainer or buy a block of hours and when something breaks they call their support people and are charged by the hour to have the problem fixed. Almost all work done is reactive.

The problem with this type of network management is that it invariably leads to gaps in the protection of the network.  Regular proactive maintenance gets left undone by end users.  Security and anti-virus policies end up lacking continuity.  Items get addressed on an as needed basis; however the people that assign priority to those issues usually have other primary responsibilities and often times lack the training and experience to assign proper priority to network issues.  The result is a network that is put together piece meal and without strategic planning or direction.  These networks lack organization and the end result is work flow issues and inefficiencies.

Companies end up paying for problems to be fixed that could have been avoided with proper maintenance.  Machines that are not properly maintained will not last as long as a properly maintained server or workstation.  The result is more frequent capital investment in hardware.  Networks without comprehensive protection and daily management are at a greater risk of catastrophic failure.  These events can result in significant downtime and cost a ton of money.  A proactive approach to support mitigates that risk.
